Happy Fourth of July
My Fourth of July projects always involve visiting a national park. This one is a visit to a group of California and Oregon national sites linked by the common thread of volcanism. Increasingly the trips or projects that I do have inspired me to add video to my written newsletters. Although this is not the first time my annual Fourth of July newsletter has also been accompanied by a video -- see "Ghost Towns in the Sky" below on this page -- this is the first time I've gone into the project planning a newsletter and video from the beginning.
Jimmy Carter | Plains' Main Man
The February announcement that former President Jimmy Carter was entering home hospice care prompted me to travel to Carter's home town and interview the people who knew him as a neighbor about his legacy. This video is the product of three days of video and interview work in Plains, Georgia in mid-April as well as other interviews and research before and after my trip.
